Chronology

April 2001: DB flies me to Las Vegas and decides I’m the guy to do his treasure hunt. Everything is “rush, rush, rush” for publishing in late October. BK says he will “call me.”

April 2002: BK calls me. Everything is “rush, rush, rush” for publishing in late October. DB starts working on the book as he trains for his Vertigo stunt at 2451 Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

September 4, 2002: DB decides to hide his treasure at 2451 Laurel Canyon Boulevard (where he also shot the introduction for his “Fearless” DVD).

October 29, 2002: The book is published. A laminated card is hidden at the treasure location (as a placeholder for the treasure map and amulet described in the rules).

February 21, 2003: DB and I hide a $10,000 gold orb inside a hollow stone at the treasure location (thereby replacing the treasure map and amulet described in the rules).

November 4, 2003: DB wants me to create a standalone clue that he can announce on The Larry King Show. DB announces this clue the following evening.

March 20, 2004: The Challenge is solved by a latecomer who worked on the puzzle for six weeks.
